A port side view of the cutter yacht 'Cygnet' sailing away from the shore in the right. The yacht 'Xarifa' and H.M. brig 'Columbine' in the left background. Two men are on the deck of the 'Cygnet.' One man pushes the tiller while the other stands and directs. The yacht also flies a British naval ensign. Below the printed plate is the descriptive title and dedication to the Secretary and members of the Royal Cork Yacht Club.

On the reverse is an incomplete and quick graphite sketch of a vessel's hull, foremast, bowsprit, yards, and some faint indications of rigging.
