Her mainsail is loosely furled and she flies an American flag above her spanker. Cliffs are visible on the left background and a steamship and other sailing vessels sail in the right background. The 'Montezuma' was added to the Black Ball Line after the company passed into the hands of Captain Charles H. Marshall in 1836.
